At the market this past weekend several people asked me to start posting about gardening and growing. So here we go! You still have time to sow these flowers for later summer/early fall blooms up until mid-July. These are all sun lovers and will keep producing flowers as long as you dead head (except for sunflowers unless you are planting a branching variety, and amaranth will give a few flushes). I will post soon about what seeds I’m sowing for fall transplanting for Spring flowers 💐
The zinnias are blooming and popping up all over the garden. We are growing 20+ varieties and so far I’ve noted queen lemon peach, floret precious metals, and Johnny’s Aurora. The amaranth is looking beautiful. The dahlias are budding, and the sweet peas are still pushing flowers. We still have phlox of sheep, roses, yarrow, and snapdragons blooming. And now our blush agrostemma is flowering ✨ So many flowers to bring to @stjohnsfarmersmarket this Saturday before brief hiatus for wedding weekends. We will see you 7/12 and will return August 1st likely deep in dahlia season. See you soon! 💐

I’ve had to cut the sweet peas three times today in the heat (you have to keep cutting so the plant keeps making flowers instead of seed). The scent is heavenly. This area will be full of cosmos and marigolds soon. ✨
